Tonight I’m gonna show You the print we’ve realized for the upcoming show called “Weapon of choice”.
It’ll take place on the 11th of January 2013 in California, in the city of Los Angeles at the gallery Design Matters,in  11527 West Pico Boulevard.
Hero Complex is the mind behind it.
And You can find more infos HERE.
As it’s stated in the press release of the exibithion, “the theme revolves around art inspired by prominent characters of fiction, historical reference, or pop culture, and their relationship with their iconic “weapon,” that one thing that is inextricably tied to their character”.
After thinking about many and many possibility, we decided to give tribute to the first Vamp of all times: Theda Bara.
We thought she was also the perfect character to celebrate 10 years of silkscreening mainly dedicated to the female figure and perfectly fitting some of the ideas behind Malleus.
So we realized this Art Print called VAMP.
It’s a limited edition of 80 pieces printed on sparkling gold glittered paper, with silver, black and glowing in the dark inks.
And we also realized a shorter run on gold paper I’m gonna show You tomorrow.
30 pieces of VAMP will be in California.
The other ones will go on sale on the 12th of January on our webstore.
But stop writing and let’s go with some pics.

This is the paper.
And here below You can see the first color, a nice silver metallic ink.

Then a black came.

We took inspiration from some of the most famous images sourrounding the myth of Theda Bara, her pics with the skeleton, her role as Cleopatra, part of her famous dresses and so on.
And we create what we think could be a very good iconic image, showing her power, the weapon that was her magic glance.
Then we created an overlay we printed with a glowing in the dark ink.
A macabre homage to Theda.

And this is how it appears in the dark.

And the final design of VAMP.

And tomorrow we’re gonna show You the variant version on gold paper.
Here is a foretaste for Your curiosity:-)
